I've been looking at doing something like this for Transylvania:
As such I am doing interviews with people who lived in the area during the Second World War. The face of Transylvania was different then. By 1940 Transylvania was divided between Hungary and Romania.
Still it is a very interesting time, but now I am searching for more... something to do with today. This should be interesting and fun as well.
